§ 13.04.010. Service connections—Deposit and fees

  • A. All persons desiring water to be supplied to them or the premises which they are occupying from the municipal water plant of the city shall pay a deposit to the city clerk to guarantee the prompt payment of all water accounts accumulated in connection with water service. The amount of the deposit shall be a minimum of fifty dollars ($50.00). In case the premises use a considerable amount of water, the city clerk is authorized to require a deposit in excess of the minimum deposit.

    B. There shall be an additional charge of fifty dollars ($50.00) per connection made after normal working hours.

    C. Any customer moving within the city service area shall be charged a move connection fee of ten dollars ($10.00) for each move.

    D. The city clerk shall return the deposit to the customer at such time service is discontinued, except the city clerk may first deposit the payment of any accrued bills or bills due on discontinuance of service. The city clerk shall pay interest to the customer making the deposit as provided by KSA 12-822.
