§ 2.84.020. Group insurance

  • The governing body is authorized to provide group, health, accident, medical, dental, hospitalization and life insurance or any combination of two or more such forms of group insurance for the benefit of the officers and employees of the city and to pay the premiums for the insurance out of the respective department funds provided for the payment of the same. Any employee or officer not desiring the coverage as provided by the governing body shall file with the city clerk his or her statement in writing advising the governing body that he or she does not desire to be covered by the insurance. Such statement shall continue in effect until the officer or employee files a written statement with the city clerk that he or she desires to be covered by the insurance.
