§ 15.08.100. Inspection of complete wiring

  • Upon installation, alteration or repairing of any electrical wiring, devices or materials in any building or structure, the licensed electrician installing the same shall notify the city electrical inspector, who shall inspect all such work within twenty-four (24) hours of the time that notice is given; and if such work is found by the city electrical inspector to be in compliance with the provisions of this chapter and does not constitute a hazard to life or property, such inspector shall issue to the owner of the premises or his or her agent a certificate of inspection and approval of such work and shall authorize electrical service to such premises covered. All applications for inspection shall be made before completion of the electrical work and concealment of wires to be inspected. If the city electrical inspector shall find, upon inspection, that the electrical wiring, devices or materials do not comply with the requirements of this chapter, no certificate of inspection shall be issued until all defects and requirements are complied with.
