§ 13.20.050. Types of service to be furnished

  • All lighting service shall be furnished at one hundred ten (110) to two hundred twenty (220) volts, cycle, three wires. Power service for connected loads up to five horsepower will be furnished at two hundred twenty (220) volts, sixty (60) cycle, single-phase current, or in areas zoned for business or industrial use, it will be furnished at two hundred twenty (220) volts, sixty (60) cycles, three-phase current. Any motor rated one horsepower or more must be connected on two hundred twenty (220) volt service. Any motor less than one horsepower and connected to one hundred ten (110) volt service shall have adequate wiring and fuse protection. In areas zoned for business or industrial use, connected loads of over five horsepower will be furnished service at two hundred twenty (220) volts, sixty (60) cycles, three-phase current. Motors must be provided with an approved starting device. Heating and cooking service will be furnished at one hundred ten (110) to two hundred twenty (220) volts, three wires, single-phase current.
