§ 12.04.040. Alignment specifications

  • Except where otherwise provided, the inner edge of all four-foot walks shall be one foot from the lot line, and all four-foot walks shall be of three-fourths inch downward slope toward the curb. The top of the inner edge of the sidewalk shall be three inches above the grade line and/or three inches above the top of the curbing where curb and gutter have previously been laid unless a permit to construct the sidewalk in a different manner shall have been issued by the city engineer and approved by the board of commissioners of the city; provided, that wherever the curbline and the outer edge of the sidewalk are contiguous the outer edge of the sidewalk shall be constructed on a level with the curb.
