§ 10.16.010. Truck traffic confined to certain routes

  • A. Except as provided in Section 10.16.020, it is unlawful for any person, firm, corporation or organization of any kind to operate or drive any truck, semitractor or semitrailer upon any street, roadway or highway within the city unless such street, roadway or highway is designated as a truck route as provided in Section 10.16.030 of this code.

    B. For purposes of this chapter, the word "truck" shall mean any vehicle designed for the transportation of property and:

    1. Whose body weight or combined body weight and load weight exceeds a gross weight of six tons;

    2. Has a wheel base over one hundred thirty-five (135) inches; or

    3. Has more than six wheels.

    C. For purposes of this chapter, the words or phrase "truck route" shall mean the streets, roadways or highways designated in Section 10.16.030 upon or along which trucks coming into, traveling within or going out of the city shall be allowed to operate or drive upon.
