§ 13.12.200. Penalties and fines

A. Notification. The city building inspector shall notify the owner or authorized agent of the owner, of a building or premises in which there is found a violation of this chapter of such violation. The city building inspector shall set a reasonable time for the owner to have the violation corrected. If the owner fails to correct the violation within the specified time, the city shall cease delivery of water to the building or premises until the violation shall be satisfactorily corrected.

B. Fines. A person convicted of a violation of this chapter shall be punished as follows:

1. A fine of not more than four hundred ninety-nine dollars ($499.00); or

2. Imprisonment in jail for not more than one hundred seventy-nine (179) days; or

3. Both such fine and imprisonment not to exceed subsections (B)(1) and (2) of this section.
